3M Cubitron II Hookit Paper Disc 732U features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or “plowing” like conventional abrasives, resulting in a disc that lasts up to 4x as long as conventional abrasives. Now available from grades 80+ through 1000+, these discs are designed for a wide array of substrates and applications,providing flexibility and versatility in use. The discs are effective for a broad range of tasks from stock removal to fine finishing on various substrates, including metals, paint coatings, composites, gelcoat, and different types of wood. The C-weight paper backing offers flexibility and is suitable for sanding applications where edge retention is not the main concern. For best results, pair with 3M Xtract Random Orbital Sanders. We offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit sanding discs which conveniently attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. For work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt or where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs.
