Makita delivers grinding performance with the 40V XGT® Brushless 4-1/2" / 5" X-LOCK Angle Grinder with AWS, (GAG11M1). The Makita-built brushless motor along with 40V max XGT® battery combine to deliver powerful grinding and up to 60% faster cutting speed than previous models*. The X-LOCK quick change system allows for tool-free wheel changes with simple snap-on mounting and pull release lever for up to 5-times faster accessory changes. It is ideal for grinding and cutting a wide range of materials including tile, concrete, pipe, conduit, and more. The GAG11M1 is powered by a Makita-built brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) turns the motor off if rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop. The Angle Grinder features an electronic current limiter that helps protect the motor from overload in high torque applications, a variable speed control dial that allows for RPM adjustment (3,000-8,500) to match the speed to the application and a slide-style switch with lock-on for operator convenience. It also features quick guard rotation that allows easy tool-less adjustment for increased productivity, spiral bevel gears for smoother rotations, and a more efficient transfer of energy, as well as soft start which suppresses the grinder’s start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life. Convenience features include a rubberized soft grip which provides increased comfort on the job, and a compact size of only 16-3/4” which increases user comfort and allows operation in tight spaces. Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS®) uses Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor. Once connected via AWS, the AWS-equipped dust extractor will automatically power on or off when the AWS-equipped cordless tool starts or stops, running only when the tool is in use. This increases productivity on a single charge and reduces continuous noise at the job or work site. AWS is activated with an AWS Wireless Transmitter (198901-5, sold separately).
