Unitized wheels differ from convolute wheels, because they feature a layered construction as opposed to being wound around a core: the open web is cured and compressed for added strength and durability. The unique production method makes unitized wheels a good match for edges and contours. Moreover, the wheels may be run clockwise or counter-clockwise. We recommend using this wheel with the 3M Die Grinder (sold separately). For projects that require an extended wheel, 3M Extended Die Grinder (sold separately), and the 936 unitized mandrel (sold separately) are good accessories to have on hand.
