The string trimmer is ideal for precision trimming and edging. It features an efficient Makita-built motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The Makita-built motor delivers 7,800 RPM for faster cutting. The String Trimmer delivers up to 1 hour of run time with 18V LXT® 4.0Ah battery (battery not included). Its compact size is ideal for precision trimming and edging. The XRU24 is actually two tools in one with a 180°rotating head that allows the trimmer to convert to edger. It features a telescoping shaft (48-1/4” to 56-1/2”) for optimum cutting position and an adjustable 5-position pivoting head for cutting angle adjustment when trimming in tight spaces. Convenience features include an adjustable loop handle for convenient operation and features the easy-loading bump and feed trimmer head with metal reinforced bump knob. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
